For the Nations | Summer Serve
Due to low group registration numbers, this trip has been cancelled. However, we still encourage you to serve with FTN independently! Talk to us about how you can still be involved outside of a SG sponsored team.
What to Expect
Who is Stonegate partnering with on this Mission?
This Summer, join us as we partner with For the Nations Refugee Outreach mission in Garland, Texas. FTNRO serves refugees from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East by providing education, family services and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Your assignment will be to come alongside the staff, interns and other volunteers to help teach English as a second language to refugee adults and kids, help with summer school tutoring, discipleship/bible lessons, games, sports, field trips, swimming lessons, and facilitating the end of summer bash! Teams will be expected to serve long days. You will show kindness and love as a believer of Jesus Christ to a person who might not know Jesus as Savior and help welcome some of our newest Texan residents.

Accommodations & Transportation
- The team will stay at the Homewood Suites Hotel by Hilton Plano-Richardson in suite style rooms. Four people will be assigned to each suite. This type of lodging allows leaders to be within ear-shot and oversight of attendees.
- Rooms will be divided by gender and/or families.
- Participants will be encouraged to try new cultural foods and will need to communicate with their Team Leader if they have food allergies or restrictive dietary concerns.
- The team will drive to Garland together and drive back together. SG approved leaders will drive the church van and other approved vehicles based on team size and need. SG Staff members and servant leaders may from time to time be in a position to provide transportation for fellow team members. If there is a need, you may be asked to be a trip driver. Drivers must be at least 25 years old and be approved by a ministry supervisor.
- If you have concern about driving with the team, you must consult with a SG Mission Staff member and/or your Team Leader before making final arrangements.
What is Covered in the Trip Cost?
Everything you need for your trip once in Garland is included in the trip fundraising cost (i.e. transportation, lodging, meals, outreach supplies, partner gifts, etc.). Meals or refreshments while actively traveling to and from Garland will be at your own cost. Souvenirs, snacks, or personal supplies purchased at any time during the trip will be at your own cost. The listed fundraising cost is based on preparation costs and costs given to us by the ministry partner for successful outreach.
